We're here to help. We would like to invite you to meet one-on-one with an international recruiter. This is a great way to learn more about all Laurier has to offer, as well as an opportunity to discuss your application and what's next in the admissions process.

Hi! My name is Bisi, and it's a delight to be one of the International Recruiters at Laurier. I work with a community of like-minded and passionate folks committed to helping each other achieve success. I am inspired daily by the community of faculty and staff committed to supporting our students' success.

I am currently completing my Master's in Education at Laurier. As an international student who moved to Canada eight years ago to study at Lambton College, I feel a sense of gratitude for my decision to pursue my post-secondary education in Canada.

I look forward to connecting with you, sharing my personal experiences as an international student, and learning more about your goals and dreams.

Ian Camara

Hello future Golden Hawks!

My name is Ian Camara. I am a recent Laurier graduate and an International Recruitment Coordinator. I am beyond thrilled to get to know and support you though one of the biggest decisions of your lives, to help you make the best choices for your education and to create life-changing memories.

I started my Laurier journey back in 2017 and studied Law and Society on our Brantford Campus. During my studies, I also added several minors to my degree. I started working for Laurier in 2018 as student staff in the role of a Campus Ambassador; since then, I have worked in various positions across the institution.

I am here to support you and be your go-to person when you have questions or concerns relating to your education potential. Laurier’s sense of community has a huge impact on our international student population and I am honoured to be part of this community as both a graduate and a current staff member. Students feel supported and cared for though their university education and Laurier is absolutely inspiring the lives of all students: future, current, and past.

I cannot wait, and am so excited, to welcome you to Laurier so you are able to experience the best of all we have to offer.

Connect with International Students and Alumni

There's a lot to consider when picking a university in another country and our student and alumni ambassadors are here to help you navigate this exciting journey. Connect with one of our team members through their profile.

Don't know what to ask? Here are some of the questions our international ambassadors considered when they were thinking about choosing Laurier.

Ask our Students:

  • What is the first year of your program like?
  • What is it like to live in Canada and where did you live in first year?
  • What are the professors like in your program?
  • How can I experience campus when I can't visit in person?

Ask our Alumni:

  • How did your Laurier degree/experience help you in being success in your current role?
  • Did you have plans to work internationally after graduation?
  • Do you have any suggestions on how to approach international positions?
  • What was your favourite class at Laurier?
