Meet an International Recruiter

We're here to help. We would like to invite you to meet one-on-one with an international recruiter. This is a great way to learn more about all Laurier has to offer, as well as an opportunity to discuss your application and what's next in the admissions process.

Our Team

Hi future Golden Hawks! My name is Danish and I have been a member of the Laurier community since 2009. Laurier afforded me with a well-rounded student experience: I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, worked as a research assistant and tutor, and helped students feel at home as a resident advisor. Post-graduation, I decided to take some time to travel across the country. I lived in Japan for 8 months, improving my Japanese language skills and working as a ramen chef in Tokyo. What an adventure!

Currently, I am enrolled in the part-time MBA program at Laurier and work as an international recruitment and admissions coordinator. I regularly interact with international students from the continent of Africa, the Middle East and Pakistan. I would be more than happy to share with you my experiences as a student at Laurier and answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to reach out – I look forward to meeting you!

Hello! My name is Dana Montgomery, and I am one of the international recruitment and admissions coordinators here at Laurier. I am a proud and very passionate graduate of Laurier, with a degree in Sociology and Psychology.

Choosing to go to Laurier when I was pursuing my undergraduate degree was the best decision I ever made. I understand the magnitude of the decision you are making, and I would be honoured to discuss why Laurier would be a good fit for you!

If you are an international student studying in Canada, the Caribbean, the United States of America, the United Kingdom or Latin America, please feel free to set up a meeting with me!

Hello! My name is Diwakar Sharma (Danny) and I’m a highly motivated international recruiter who brings over 14 years of experience in international recruitment and partnerships to Laurier.

I came to Canada as an international student after completing a master's degree in Mass Communication from India and graduated from Niagara College with a postgraduate diploma in Public Relations and TESL. I tried my hand at teaching and taught at the university level in China and India.

As Regional Manager, international recruitment and partnerships at Laurier, I’m responsible for managing the agent network and building Laurier's presence internationally through a solid understanding of different cultures and markets. I have a vast knowledge and experience on border and immigration services and I’m in the process of acquiring certification as a regulated Canadian immigration consultant.
