Psychology (BA or BSc)

Psychology at Laurier’s Waterloo campus offers a strong foundation in understanding human thought, emotion and behaviour, with access to expert faculty, hands-on labs, co-op and community-based learning. You’ll build research, analytical and communication skills that prepare you for graduate studies and rewarding careers.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) explores social, developmental and clinical psychology, with opportunities to study culture, cognition and community mental health—ideal for careers in education, counselling or social services. The Bachelor of Science (BSc) focuses on neuroscience, perception and cognition, with lab-based learning in biology and health, preparing you for research or healthcare professions.

  • Consider a Bachelor of Arts if...
    You want to explore how personality, culture, environment and society shape behaviour. The BA takes a social sciences approach with opportunities for field placements, research projects and flexible options like specialized streams or concentrations. You can tailor your degree toward careers in education, policy, counselling or even medical school.
  • Consider a Bachelor of Science if...
    You’re drawn to the scientific study of psychology, combining core courses with natural and life sciences. Your Co-op Experience

Co-op is a way to integrate what you are learning in the classroom with practical experience in your field of study. Build your resume, earn money, develop your network, and graduate with work experience.

You can apply for admission to co-op in your first year and may be eligible for an admission interview early in your second year. As a student in this program, you will be eligible to complete paid work terms lasting 12 to 16 weeks.

Delivered In Person

Join us on campus and experience university life firsthand.

You can complete your program primarily through in-person courses where you will attend classes in a physical classroom on scheduled days and times, which you will see and choose from when you register for courses.
