At Laurier Waterloo, the Financial Mathematics and Analytics programs teach you to apply mathematics, statistics and data-analytic methods to real-world challenges in finance and risk management. Through use of industry software, problem-based projects and math labs, you’ll gain experience in analyzing financial data and risks, valuing investments, evaluating complex securities, modeling instruments and managing liabilities.
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) develops theoretical, computational and practical knowledge for careers in finance, management, government or the tech sector, or for graduate studies. The Bachelor of Science (BSc) combines mathematics and finance with natural, physical and computer sciences, preparing you for technical roles or advanced study. Tailor either degree with two optional concentrations.

The Management Option is for students interested in adding management-specific education to their degree. This is a direct-entry, 4.0-credit option that includes courses covering all the core pillars of business and economics.

Laurier's language of instruction is English, and so we may require you to provide evidence of your English proficiency to help make sure you are successful in your academic courses.
Your three most recent years of full-time education must be in English without taking any ESL (English as a Second Language) courses. If you do not meet this requirement, you must provide evidence of your English proficiency.
We reserve the right to request an English-language test from any applicant.
If you do not meet Laurier's English proficiency requirement but are academically qualified for your program, you may be eligible for a conditional offer of admission.
The Academic Transition Pathway (ATP) program is offered through our affiliated institution, Wilfrid Laurier International College, and provides an option for meeting our English-proficiency requirement. Co-op is a way to integrate what you are learning in the classroom with practical experience in your field of study. Build your resume, earn money, develop your network, and graduate with work experience.
You can apply for admission to co-op in your first year and may be eligible for an admission interview early in your second year. As a student in this program, you will be eligible to complete paid work terms lasting 12 to 16 weeks.
