Laurier’s exciting new partnership with Cardiff University in Wales offers you the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a master’s degree (MA or MSc) in just five years.

Your academic journey begins at Laurier’s Waterloo campus, earning a BA in Archaeology and Heritage Studies or Communication Studies. Then head to Cardiff University—one of the United Kingdom's leading universities—where you’ll complete a one-year hands-on Master of Science (MSc) in Archaeological Sciences or a Master of Arts (MA) offered by the School of Journalism, Media and Culture Programme.

These practical degrees are widely respected and deliver the training, skills and knowledge to help you make your mark in the media or the heritage industries upon graduation.

    As a Communication Studies graduate at Cardiff University, you can choose from eight different programs in journalism, media and culture that focus on journalism, communications, digital media, public relations and more. As an Archaeology and Heritage Studies graduate, you can choose from two master’s degrees and focus on archaeological science or conservation practice.

Your Co-op Experience

Co-op is a way to integrate what you are learning in the classroom with practical experience in your field of study. Build your resume, earn money, develop your network, and graduate future-ready.

Future Laurier Arts students have two options to engage in co-op. You can apply in first-year to our co-op program and complete three-work terms of four months’ duration and gain valuable experience during their studies.

You can also get a head-start and apply for direct admission to our brand-new co-op program straight from high school in select Arts programs. In both pathways, you will gain 12 months of career experience.

Tuition and Scholarships

Tuition Discount for Laurier Students at Cardiff University

Cardiff University offers a 10% tuition discount* and the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship (current value £3,500 for 2025/26 entry) for Laurier students who have graduated with an Honours BA in Archaeology and Heritage Studies or Communication Studies. Note the tuition fee reduction will be applied to the remaining tuition fees after any Cardiff scholarship has been applied.
