Jerzy (Jurek) Konieczny received an MA from the University of Warsaw (where he also studied mathematics) and a PhD from Western University. He joined the Laurier faculty in 1987. He was a visitor at Tel-Aviv University, Harvard University, Université Libre de Bruxelles (ECARES) and University of Sydney.
His primary area of teaching and research is macroeconomics, in particular the microfoundations of sticky prices and menu cost models. His recent research focuses on the behaviour of prices, and of price setters, regular adjustment, distribution of price changes over time as well as on testing menu cost model. His research was published in, among others, American Economic Review, Canadian Journal of Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Economica, Economic Inquiry, Economic Letters and Ekonomista.
He is the (founding) editor of the Review of Economic Analysis (RofEA.org), an open access, general interest electronic journal, and is Director of the Research Centre for Economic Analysis (RCEA.org). He has organized many conferences and workshops.
In his spare time his favourite activity is mountain biking (now on an electrified bike) and latte art.
