Sample Courses

Below you’ll find a breakdown of the courses featured in this sample schedule:

  • MUAC101: Theory I: Foundations (0.5 credit) Introduces core concepts in music theory, including notation, harmony, and analysis. 
  • MUST100: Foundational Vocal Techniques (Non-voice majors) (0.25 credit) Methods of good vocal production (clear tone, singing in tune, vowel formation) and breathing, the basics of healthy singing and building confidence with using the singing voice.
  • PS101: Intro to Psychology I (0.5 credit) Methods for understanding human and animal behaviour are discussed. 
  • MUPS129D: Saxophone (Contemporary/Commercial) (1 credit, full year) 600 minutes individual tuition and group instruction (per semester) on a major instrument for two semesters.
  • MUEN123B: Jazz Orchestra (0.5 credit, full year) The study and performance of both classic and contemporary jazz repertoire, including improvisation skills, in both in large ensemble and smaller combinations.
