PhD in Management, Accounting
As an MBA graduate, I have been very satisfied with my learning experience at Laurier. During the three semesters here, I have met many caring and knowledgeable professors, such as Ben Amoako-Adu, Madhu Kalimipalli, Mary Kelly, Si Li, Robert Mathieu, Subhankar Nayak, and Jack Schnabel, etc., to name only some. They are all experts in their respective fields and clearly understand the subjects that they have been teaching. The knowledgeable instructors and caring support staff at Laurier are the reason that I decide to pursue my doctorate degree here.
Though I am interested in both behavioural and archival studies, my focus is on financial accounting research. Specifically, I’d like to connect the accounting data or accounting disclosures with the financial markets. In my opinion, accounting is the nexus of all kinds of measures for the firm’s performance. Furthermore, any measure of the firm’s performance should affect the firm’s value.
My career goal is to become an accounting professor at a North America business school, where I can keep on conducting financial accounting research with my colleagues and teaching students in financial accounting and corporate finance.
