PhD in Management, Finance
During my master’s, I stayed in Waterloo for some time and got in touch with various PhD students and faculty from Wilfrid Laurier University. It felt right to me. I work exactly in the area I am most interested in, and the faculty really care about their PhD students. Training through research courses is comprehensive, challenging, and very useful.
My research interests are market microstructure and corporate finance (in particular, stock splits).
My aim is to become a professor because I love learning, doing research, and teaching. That way, I will keep thinking of exciting research ideas, testing them, and discussing them with experts, and keep getting exposed to fascinating new ideas and research from colleagues. Teaching encourages me to simplify what I have learned so I can help students gain an understanding of useful frameworks and ideas while encouraging and guiding them to develop skills they need to thrive in their lives.
