Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

The Laurier Association for Lifelong Learning is offering a series of lectures and courses this winter on a wide variety of topics, including the science of memory, the history of the Soviet Union, archaeological excavations of an ancient city in Jordan, the history of the Canadian Machine Telephone Company in Brantford, and the importance of exercise and nutrition in older adults.
Events will be held at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex or the Carnegie Building on Laurier’s Brantford campus and are open to Laurier students, alumni, faculty and staff, as well as members of the public. Tickets are non-refundable and must be purchased in advance.
“We have a fantastic lineup of fascinating and engaging lectures to offer the community this winter, with speakers ranging from Laurier faculty members to community fitness instructors,” says Lindsay Tayler, director of the Office of Continuing Education at Laurier. “Members of the community can join us in Waterloo and Brantford for single lectures or multi-week courses.”
