International Student Fees

The following is a budget outline based on our 2016/17 fees*:

  • Full-time tuition: $21,434
  • Residence: $4,797-$7,723
  • Meal Plans: $4,850 or $5,250
  • Textbooks: $950
  • Health insurance: $700
  • Incidental fees: $1,050
  • Total (two terms/eight months): $33,781 CAD

*All fees are estimates only and based on estimates for students studying at our Waterloo campus. Fees subject to increase for 2017/18. Residence at the Brantford campus is a single room, apartment style. International undergraduate BBA/BCS double degree with the University of Waterloo tuition fees for first-year students are $26,882 CAD. Apartment-style meal plan is mandatory for those students who have been assigned to an apartment-style residence, at a cost of $2,020.

Fees cover two academic terms of four months each. The first term (fall term) runs from September to December. The second term (winter term) runs from January to April.

You will pay half your fees in August for the first term, and the other half in December for the second term. You have a four-month summer break from May to August where you are allowed stay in Canada and work full-time or return to your home country.

We are committed to ensuring that all students offered admission receive the assistance they need to complete their degree.

Laurier offers plenty of opportunities for part-time employment as a teaching assistant, residence don, computer analyst, telefundraiser or through the hundreds of food service opportunities right on campus. We are also located in thriving communities with healthy retail and service sectors that offer plenty of employment opportunities throughout the year.

International Scholarships

We offer entrance scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, based on your academic achievement. Entrance Scholarships are awarded at the time you receive an offer of admission and are based solely on your grades. You can earn between $1,000 and $5,000 based on your high-school average. The best part is that during years two through four (five for some programs), you will re-qualify for additional scholarships if you meet specific annual GPA requirements through our in-course scholarships. You do not need to apply for entrance scholarships. 

The following scholarships are also available to first-year international students:

  • Farouk and Dawn Ahamed International Student Scholarship
  • President’s International Friendship Scholarship: $5,000

Competitive Scholarships and Awards

Laurier offers a large number of competitive scholarships and awards for students in all years of university. These are granted based on a range of criteria including involvement, financial need, outstanding academic achievement and more.

U.S. Applicants

Laurier is on the approved list for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) funding for U.S. students.
