Taking into consideration public health advice and the health of our community, some activities on Laurier’s campuses will see reduced hours, cancellations or closures.
Laurier is discontinuing in-person instruction in all courses effective Monday, March 16 at 8:30 a.m. for the remainder of the winter 2020 term. Instructors are developing and communicating plans for alternative instruction and assessment to enable students to fulfil learning outcomes and receive course credits.
Laurier has cancelled or postponed all events not part of courses or academic requirements from noon March 13 to April 30.
At this time, the university remains open. However, the following services and spaces are impacted by adjusted hours or closures:
The Department of Athletics and Recreation has closed all recreational facilities on the Waterloo campus, effective Monday, March 16, 2020.
The YMCA of Hamilton, Burlington, and Brantford has closed the Laurier Brantford YMCA facilities until April 3, 2020.

As an essential service, Distribution Services on the Waterloo campus will continue to operate as Central Receiving between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon, Monday to Friday.
Distribution Services on the Brantford campus are closed, effective March 17.
As of March 21, Fresh Food Company is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All other food services are closed.
All Laurier campus library buildings closed until April 5, 2020.
During this period of closure, all online resources and services, including a wide range of electronic collections, Omni search tool, Ares (for course readings and reserves), Ask Us online help services, course help pages, subject research guides and Library help videos will be accessible at library.wlu.ca.
All physical Printing Services locations are closed, which includes R137, The Hub and Concourse locations. The email accounts firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org and WebPrint are being monitored throughout the day. Printing Services will continue to support any essential/urgent print.
Laurier has cancelled all research activities that involve face-to-face interactions with members of the public until April 30, 2020.
All field research will discontinue and access to research labs will be severely restricted, effective Friday, March 20, 2020.
Laurier is requiring all students to move out of Laurier-operated residences at all campus locations by Wednesday, March 18 at 11:59 p.m., except under exceptional circumstances.
Service Laurier’s call centre and in-person service centre are closed.
