2025 Holiday Season Campus Closure Information

Laurier’s Brantford and Waterloo campuses will close for the holiday season on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. and reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026. Laurier’s Milton campus will close for the holiday season on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. and reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026.

During the closure, all university buildings will be locked to maintain security. If you require access to your office during this time, and are unable to gain entry to the building with your OneCard, please contact Special Constable Service (SCS) at 519.885.3333.

Temperature Adjustment

  • Please ensure all windows are closed prior to leaving your area at the beginning of the closure. This will ensure room temperatures remain above freezing and prevent damage to pipes and flooding.
  • To conserve energy during the closure, the temperature in all buildings will be lowered to approximately 15°C.
  • Some functions may require a more moderate environment. If this is the case in your area, please contact the Facilities Service Desk at facilitiesservicedesk@wlu.ca or 548.889.3242 by Thursday, December 18th at 12:00 noon to request an adjustment in temperature.

​Recycling and Waste Collection

  • The last recycling and waste collection for offices and workstations is scheduled for the morning of Monday, December 22nd.
  • Please place any waste or recycling created after the collection on Friday, December 19th in the common collection areas for a final pick up during the morning of Monday, December 22nd. Regular collection will resume on Friday, January 2nd.  
  • Please ensure that any garbage or food waste generated between December 22 and January 1 is placed in the common collection areas on the building’s main floor only, as staff will not be available to service other floors until regular collection resumes in January.

Snow Removal

  • Snow removal will be provided over the break as needed.  

Building-Related Emergency

  • To report any building-related emergency during the closure, please call the Special Constable Service (SCS) at 519.885.3333.
