Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Once you have applied to Laurier, you will receive a confirmation email containing your LORIS account login information. LORIS is Laurier's Online Registration & Information System. This will allow you to view your application status online. You should also use LORIS to view a list of documents we require for your application and to view when we have received your documents.

To ensure you receive our emails, please add to your address book or “safe sender” list in your email account, because we will be communicating with you by email over the next few months.

When you request for your transcript(s) to be sent to Laurier, it can take two to three weeks for Laurier to receive the documentation. Your application will take two to four weeks to process after we have received all required documents.

Receiving Application Confirmation

We will send you an email to confirm that we’ve received your application. Please add to your list of safe senders or contacts to ensure that our emails reach you. You should also make sure the email address you submitted to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) is up-to-date – that’s how we’ll be communicating with you from now on.

Application information is processed in the order in which it is received from OUAC. If you do not receive a confirmation message from us within five days of applying, please check your junk mail first. Checking Your Application Status

To access your application status online, you will need to log into LORIS:

  • Your Laurier username. Your username is in the confirmation email we sent you; please check your email.
  • Your Laurier password, which is preset to your date of birth in the format MMDDYYYY. The first time you log into LORIS, you will be prompted to change your password. 
  • If you experience issues with logging into LORIS using your Laurier username, complete this form to change your Laurier username account password.
    • Note: If you are logging in with your Laurier ID number and you enter the wrong pin five times, LORIS will lock you out. If this happens, contact Recruitment and Admissions at to unlock your account.
