Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Wilfrid Laurier University community partners, faculty, staff and students are all invited to celebrate the grand opening of the Teaching and Learning Commons (TLC) on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 1-3 p.m.

A modern, collaborative space for faculty, staff, and students, the TLC provides a renovated, centralized environment for these communities to access a wide variety of teaching and learning resources and personalized support. Situated on the second floor of the Frank C. Peters Building at Laurier’s Waterloo campus, the TLC unites student academic success supports, online learning and educational technology teams, accessible learning services and teaching development professionals under the same roof for the first time.

During this event, guests will be invited to:

  • Engage in interactive showcases from teaching and learning teams.
  • Explore the possibilities within the newly renovated teaching and learning environments.
  • Enjoy some light refreshments with colleagues.

No RSVP required. Formal remarks from Kathryn Carter, associate vice-president: teaching and learning, will take place at 2 p.m.
