Look into Laurier

Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

The International Intensive Chamber Music Course and Concert Series, known as QuartetFest, brings young artists from across Canada and abroad together with world renowned performers. As one of the most anticipated spring festivals by chamber music lovers and young musicians, we are pleased to announce our host faculty, the Penderecki String Quartet, will be joined by guest faculty the Jose White String Quartet, David Gillham (violin) and Chiharu Iinuma (piano).

Registration

Registration is open to string quartets, piano and string trios/duos as well as individuals on violin, viola and cello on sonata repertoire with Chiharu Iinuma, our collaborative-pianists-in-residence.

QuartetFest participants receive:

  • Assigned studio space for the duration of the event.
  • Masterclasses with the QuartetFest faculty.
  • One hour individual lesson with a member of the Penderecki String Quartet.
  • Daily coaching and contact with festival faculty.
  • Opportunity to perform at the Young Artists concert.
  • Tickets to all performances.
