The Penderecki String Quartet's annual chamber academy and concert series returns for advanced string players at Wilfrid Laurier University from June 24 - July 7, 2024.

Each week students will receive:

  • one hour private lesson
  • 5 x 90 minutes of chamber coaching
  • 3 x 2 hours of chamber class
  • At least one opportunity to perform 

Rates: $650 for two weeks, $350 for one week. 

Guest artists include the New Zealand String Quartet.

Registration will open March 1, 2024. 

Students may wish to stay at the 260 Regina St Dormitory while studying at QuartetFest. The rooms are single private occupancy, private bathroom/shower, shared kitchen. The rate is $35 per night. Reserve now.

Background

The International Intensive Chamber Music Course and Concert Series, known as QuartetFest, brings young artists from across Canada and abroad together with world renowned performers. QuartetFest is one of the most anticipated spring festivals by chamber music lovers and young musicians.

QuartetFest is hosted by Laurier's Faculty of Music, the Penderecki String Quartet and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society.  

QuartetFest began at Wilfrid Laurier University in 1992 and is led by Laurier's Quartet-in-Residence the Penderecki String Quartet.
