My academic career includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Arts, and ABD (Ph.D) in Music from York University. I am continually interested in the study of music from diverse perspectives. My recent dissertation The Music of Sting, as well as my study of jazz pianist Bill Evans, and impressionism composers Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel have brought me to areas of study that have enhanced my knowledge of performance, and theoretical practices.
I am grateful for the opportunities to perform and record with notable jazz and folk musicians including: Barry Elmes, Lenny Boyd, Lorne Lofsky, Ron Westray, Benjamin Dakota Rogers and Ian Bell and look forward to many more.
