Prior to joining the academic community at Laurier, I was a secondary school teacher in Nunavut and later in international schools in Bahrain, Malaysia, Japan and the Czech Republic. I received a BSc in biology from McGill University, a BEd in intermediate education from the University of British Columbia and an MEd in Science Education from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. I completed my EdD in educational research in curriculum and learning at the University of Calgary in 2016.
I teach courses in the International Education Studies BA, the BEd and Education minor programs.
