Talented, motivated and innovative young professionals that believe that better is possible, and that higher education has an important role to play in imagining and enacting better futures for our communities, country and society.
The grit, resilience, aptitude of our students, and the commitment and service-orientation of our community of faculty and staff.
I believe that my leadership at Laurier signals that there can and should be space for racialized leaders, career growth for those seeking big challenges, and a belief that failing and learning is fundamental to innovation. I lead with caring, humility and through nurturing relationships rather than engaging in transactions. My colleagues have known me as a student, young professional, and as a leader-in-progress … and I appreciate having the space to grow my leadership in such a supportive environment.
Even though I work in the President’s Office, our team exemplifies that you can still have fun at work, high performance is a team sport, and that when the stakes are high, we can count on each other. Above all else, we take care of our own wellness and each other – so that we can do the work required of us and because it’s the right thing to do.
I’ve always believed that leadership and purpose needs to be focused on better outcomes for people, our communities and our country. Laurier has always afforded me the opportunity to apply my talents and leadership on projects and priorities that resonate with my values, and allow me the chance to imagine and enact better futures for those we serve.
