Our Laurier leaders inspire the lives of leadership and purpose at Laurier. These leaders are comprised of our employees who wish to share their experiences working at Laurier, what inspires them and what being a part of the Laurier community means to them.
Jodie Lockey-Duesling is the wellness education coordinator.
I am so lucky that I get the chance to work with students everyday. I am able to work closely with talented, strong, goal-oriented individuals who want to make a difference in others lives. The Wellness Education Program utilizes student staff working to support healthy initiatives and truly caring about other students health and well-being while in university. How amazing that these peer wellness educators are so busy with work, academics and social time and yet they want to help other students with their postsecondary lives. We try and offer uplifting campaigns that can help motivate others to be the best them! I believe we can help provide vision and inspiration for the future in students.
I have always been goal driven and I think it is crucial to want to continue thriving in a position. I have to do this by adding new and innovative ways to do my job every year. What inspires me is change in others. I truly believe that with insight, support and validation anyone can do what they aspire to do and I love the fact that I get to help with that!
Example and encourage others to feel there is something worthwhile to become!
I believe we are working with leaders everyday that will change our world!
Continually growing and being the best we can be.
