After completing my Bachelor of Music Education from Wilfrid Laurier University, I received a Bachelor of Education from Brock University, and a Master of Arts in Music Education (Choral Concentration) from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. I have also completed Level I and II training in the Kodály method of music education as well as a three-week pedagogical course at the Kodály institute in Kecskemét, Hungary. In addition to my music teaching qualifications (Kindergarten to Grade 10), I have completed the Ontario Additional Qualification courses: Math Part I and Part II.
I am actively involved in music education in Ontario and am currently a sessional instructor at Laurier as well as an elementary teacher with the Waterloo Regional District School Board. I have also served as president of the Kodály Society of Canada and the Kodály Society of Ontario. I am active as a clinician at provincial, national and international workshops and conferences.
As a conductor, I work with the Inter-Mennonite Children's Choir, a community children's choir in Waterloo and have conducted this group since 2001. I am also the Wilfrid Laurier University Alumni Choir conductor since 2012 and was the guest conductor for the Waterloo Regional District School Board's Kodaly Choral Festival for 2014/15 and 2015/16.
