Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Laurier students and alumni are among the best – and it’s not just us saying it. The latest Maclean’s Rankings of Canadian Universities put us in the Top 10 in our category nationally for best overall, highest quality and reputation.

Whether you’re looking for a co-op student, part-time staff, volunteer, intern or full-time employee, we can help you.

Co-op Students

Employers work with the Co-op Office to recruit talented co-op students and meet their short-term hiring needs cost-effectively. Co-op students from more than thirty programs are available full-time for four or eight-month work terms. Laurier has the largest business degree co-op program in Canada.

We make it easy to recruit qualified students by posting jobs, providing access to applications online and offering professional interview facilities. The Co-op Office is committed to personal, responsive service and monitors the satisfaction level of all participants.

Co-operative education allows students to integrate their academic learning with workplace learning in fields relevant to their academic and personal goals.

Career Fair

Volunteers

Looking for volunteers for your organization? Community Service-Learning courses integrate volunteer community service – typically two hours a week for 10 weeks – with coursework.

Laurier also maintains a volunteering website where organizations can post opportunities that students can browse. For more information, contact the Waterloo Campus Career Centre or the Brantford Campus Career Centre.

"Laurier has a reputation for developing the best and brightest students. Co-op students bring a valuable resource in helping our teams to manage large projects and immediate deadlines. Co-op students bring enthusiasm to our business, and help staff to consider innovative ideas. They are a good fit with our professional culture at Sun Life."

– Chris Jones, Director, Student Programs, Sun Life Financial

"As a non-profit organization, we don’t have a big budget. Laurier co-op students have the skills to design programs and develop curriculum quickly. One student’s research into social enterprise was of such high quality that questionnaires, tracking and methodology were used as part of the pilot project for seven locations."

– Carol Risidore, The Literacy Group of Waterloo Region
