Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Laurier's Office of Dispute Resolution and Sexual Violence Support was designed to promote a study and workplace culture that is supportive of professional and personal development and free from discrimination and harassment. We are all responsible for helping to create an environment that values mutual respect and understanding for the dignity and rights of others. It is in this environment that work and learning can best be accomplished.

The Office of Dispute Resolution and Sexual Violence Support is responsible for:

  • Providing facilitation of the resolution of discrimination and harassment complaints.
  • Collaborating with individuals and groups seeking to improve difficult relationships.
  • Providing support and coaching for those wishing to confidentially address conflict.
  • Educating the university community about workplace conflicts (including harassment, discrimination and bullying) and strategies for effective conflict resolution.
  • Conducting awareness programs, workshops and customized training sessions to meet the dispute resolution needs of the university community.

When individuals feel as though they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment, personal and professional wellbeing may be compromised. Even interpersonal conflicts can impact an individual’s ability to perform, be creative or enjoy employment or learning. If you are looking at this webpage, you may be experiencing this type of situation. Contact the Office of Dispute Resolution and Sexual Violence Support at or 519.884.0710 x3322.
