We welcome you to visit our campuses and get a feel for the thriving community at Laurier. Below you can find information on parking, as well as alternative modes of transportation.

Waterloo Campus Parking

The main entrance to our Waterloo campus is located on University Avenue at Hazel Street.

If you choose to drive to the Waterloo campus, there are several options for parking. View our Waterloo campus parking map for the locations of parking lots on campus.

No visitor parking is permitted in Gold, Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Accessible Parking, or “Reserved” spaces at any time. Without proper credentials, vehicles in these lots will be subject to ticketing and/or towing. To access parking violation/appeal options visit the violations and payment options website.

Parking During the Day

If you’re visiting the university for the day, there are four pay-and-display parking lots (lots 4, 12, 20 and 33) available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Pay-and-display machines are located at the entrances to lot 20 and 33. The cost is $3 per hour or $12 per day, and you can pay with quarters, loonies, toonies or credit card.

New contactless Honk Tap Smart Stations: You may now pay for parking at the pay-and-display machines located on campus via Honk Mobile by scanning the QR code on the sign with your mobile device.

There is also metered parking available in Lots 2, 3A, 14, 24 and 37. Please report malfunctioning equipment to the Parking Office (519.884.0710 x3032).

The Honk Mobile app can be used to pay for parking at either the meters or pay-and-display lots.

Weekend Parking

There is no charge for campus parking on weekends, but please note that weekend parking is only available in gold and white permit parking areas, excluding lots 18 and 48. No overnight weekend parking is permitted. Should you have to leave your vehicle in a white lot overnight on the weekend due to an emergency, you must inform the Special Constable Service at 519.885.3333 (or 519.884.0710 x3333) immediately.

Official Visitor Day Passes

If you are the guest of an academic or administrative department, ask your host about the availability of a Visitor Parking Pass.

Street Parking

There is parking available on some Waterloo city streets as per signage indicated. Please be advised that this is monitored by the City of Waterloo, and there is a three-hour maximum.

Motorcycle, Moped, Scooter Parking

Motorcycle/moped/scooter parking for visitors is restricted to designated areas (cement pads) located at:

  • Lot 15: the end of Bouckaert Hall near Bricker Residence; entrance is located off Bricker Ave.
  • Lot 1: off Bricker Ave.
  • Lot 32: Lazaridis Hall

Visitors driving a motorcycle/moped/scooter to campus must stop by the Parking and Transportation Office (202 Regina St.) to report their vehicle information and purchase a permit for the duration of the visit before proceeding to the designated area mentioned above.

Ebikes may be parked at any bicycle rack and do not require a permit.

Public Transit

Transit is a popular way to travel to and from campus, and there are several stops near the university. For students, transit is also a great way to get around town; your OneCard is a transit pass. Just show your OneCard when getting on the bus and enjoy the ride.

GO Transit, Greyhound Bus and VIA Rail also have depots in the Kitchener-Waterloo area for trips to and from Toronto, Guelph, London and other destinations.

Cycling

A bike ride to campus can be a great way to see the area. Laurier provides several bike racks located around campus where you can secure your bicycle. Many of the local streets have bike lanes, and there are lovely bike trails throughout the city. Additionally, a secure bike storage facility is available to students who bike to campus at a cost per term.

Car Share Programs

Need a ride? TravelWise carpooling and Community CarShare are active in the Waterloo area.

Brantford Campus Parking

The City of Brantford provides many parking options for visitors. Visit the City of Brantford website for more information about municipal lots and street parking, including time limits.

Please visit our parking map for a view of all parking lot locations.

Public Transit

Brantford Transit runs Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at half-hour intervals. Sunday service runs from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at one hour intervals. Our campus is only a short distance from the downtown terminal, which makes transit a great option for students and visitors.

Kitchener Location Parking
