Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Print | PDFIt is with profound sadness that Wilfrid Laurier University mourns the death of Esheaka Sinera, who died on May 11, 2020. Sinera was a fourth-year Computer Science co-op student and a community leader.
Sinera was a member of the Muslim Student Association and an inspirational leader with the Laurier Muslim chaplaincy. The Dean of Students will be connecting with Sinera’s family to offer support and to extend heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the Laurier community.
Selda Sezen, Laurier Muslim Chaplain, said that Sinera was known as a Hafiz who knew the Qur’an by heart. To honour Sinera, Sezen has announced an opportunity for reflection after Friday’s prayer. For more details please contact ssezen@wlu.ca.
