Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Print | PDFIt's #GivingTuesday, a day for giving back and investing in good. At Laurier, we can invest in good by supporting our students.
Throughout 2020, Laurier students have shown incredible resilience, and faculty and staff have played a critical role in their successes.
But the challenges for our students are not over.
The financial burden of school has hit many – if not most – Laurier students a lot harder this year. Right now, bursaries are the single most effective way you can help a Laurier student stay in school.
Additionally, to honour recently retired Dean of the Faculty of Music Dr. Glen Carruthers, long-time Laurier champions Robert (LLD '96) and Judith (BA '87) Astley have made a generous commitment.
Starting today, on Giving Tuesday, they will match every donation made – dollar for dollar – to support the naming of the Carruthers Practice Studios, within the Making Space for Music campaign.*
The beautiful, new Carruthers Practice Studios will create a bank of high-quality, light-filled music practice and rehearsal rooms with superb acoustics. The naming of the Carruthers Practice Studios is a fitting tribute to a true leader who loved nothing more than to hear music – and friendships – being made.
Your gift will be matched - dollar for dollar!*
* All funds donated to the Carruthers Practice Studios will go toward Laurier's ongoing Making Space for Music capital campaign to support the building in which the Carruthers Practice Studios will be situated.
All donations will be matched up to a total maximum of $375,000.
