The Wilfrid Laurier University community mourns the passing of first-year student Yafiet Rezene, 19, who died following a shooting in Kitchener early Sunday morning, according to Waterloo Regional Police.
Support is being provided to fellow students who knew Rezene. Laurier’s Dean of Students for the Waterloo campus will be connecting with his family.
This is the second Laurier student to pass away in recent days. The deaths were not connected but both are tragic. Losing a student at any time and under any circumstances has a significant impact on the entire Laurier community.
