Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Laurier has appointed Anna Kornobis as university secretary, following an extensive search process that began in fall 2017 and included a search committee and consultant.

Kornobis brings to Laurier her extensive senior leadership experience in the Ontario public sector. As a senior manager within the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, she provided strategic leadership in the development and implementation of the ministry’s policies, including major university and college projects. In this role, Kornobis worked closely with the deputy minister and minister’s office and executives in the postsecondary sector to integrate the government and ministry’s mandate, including the strategic mandate agreements.

Most recently, Kornobis has worked as a senior policy advisor in the Ministry of Infrastructure where she led the development of a policy framework to help government prioritize infrastructure projects and guided ministries in developing business cases to support infrastructure prioritization.

Kornobis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology from Western University and a Master of Criminology from the University of Toronto.

Kornobis will begin in this new role on June 25.
