For Immediate Release
Waterloo – Wilfrid Laurier University has achieved re-accreditation with Imagine Canada’s Standards Program, which awards accreditation to Canadian charities and non-profit organizations that demonstrate excellence in governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, staff management and volunteer involvement.
“This re-accreditation assures our donors that Laurier continues to meet and exceed the highest standards of trust and accountability,” said Laurier President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy.
In 2014, Laurier became the first university in Canada to receive accreditation as part of the Imagine Canada Standards Program. Re-accreditation for the Standards Program takes place every four years.
Imagine Canada offers programs and resources to Canadian charitable and non-profit organizations that help build local and global communities and strengthen Canada as a whole. The Standards Program builds excellence through common standards of practice, serving to strengthen public confidence in charitable and non-profit organizations.
Imagine Canada shares the results of its accreditations through a national media campaign. This year’s results will be published in Maclean’s magazine in June.
