Hi there! My name is Xueying Xu, and I am from Shanghai, China. I am going to my third year this September, in the Business Administration program. I am so excited and thrilled to have the opportunity of being an International Ambassador and sharing my story with you.

I took a year off to study English after I graduated from high school in China and came to Canada two years ago by myself.  I was nervous but excited about everything surrounding me.  In the first few weeks, I met lots of international and local friends thanks to both International Orientation Week (IOW) and Student Orientation Week (O-Week). People here are very friendly and nice. During the IOW, international mentors took me to Wal-Mart to get groceries. They also went to the bank with me and helped me deal with bank account issues. One mentor became a really close friend of mine. It was around this time that I began to feel so glad that I chose Laurier, and proud of being a Laurier Golden Hawk! Until today, I am still really thankful for the previous international ambassador who called my home and helped me learn more about this awesome beloved university.

There are many things I love about Laurier, however, close community definitely can be counted as number one. It binds Laurier students together and makes us feel closer. Laurier not only has awesome academic reputation, but it also provides many diverse opportunities for students to experience, create and enjoy.

嗨，你们好！我的名字叫徐雪莹，我来自中国上海。我在今年九月份将要进入劳里埃商科三年级。我非常激动能成为国际学生大使，并有机会与你们分享我的经历和体会。

我高中毕业后，花了一年时间去好好学英语，然后两年前自己一个人来到了加拿大。我当时很紧张，却也被我身边的新鲜事儿给吸引住。在头几个星期，多亏了国际学生周和全体学生周，我遇到了许多国际和当地学生。他们人都非常友好。在国际学生周期间，国际学生导师（也是学校高年级学生）带我去沃尔玛买生活日用品。他们还带我去银行处理开户等一系列问题。其中一位学生导师在日后，成为了我很好的朋友。就在那个时刻，我真的很庆幸我选择了劳里埃这所大学，并且十分自豪自己成为劳里埃的一员。我到现在都很感谢前任国际学生大使，他给我打了个越洋电话，并提供我更多了解劳里埃大学的信息。

我热爱着劳里埃很多方面，然而，紧密的社团关系绝对算得上是第一名，它让学生们都变得十分的亲近。劳里埃不仅仅拥有良好的学术声誉，也为学生提供足够的，多样化的机会去锻炼，创造和享受
