July 14 key updatest:

The Region of Waterloo’s face-covering bylaw came into effect July 13. While the bylaw does not apply to universities, the Pandemic Recovery Steering Group is reviewing the university’s face-covering protocol for its various locations and will communicate details once confirmed.

Information for incoming first-year, undergraduate Hawks | Laurier 101

• First-year students can register to participate in Program Chats for a chance to meet faculty, staff, students and advisors from their program. Not all programs have scheduled Program Chats, so review the dates and registration links listed in Laurier Life on MyLearningSpace.
• Share this information with your parent(s) and/or supporter(s): July 15 is the ‘Helping Your Hawk Soar’ webinar for parents and supporters. We will review strategies for supporting a new Laurier student and share information about campus supports and services.
• Mock Lectures begin on July 16. This is a chance for students to experience a virtual lecture before September. Registration links are in Laurier Life under Your Virtual Experience, as well as on the Laurier 101 events page.

Reminders:

• Shinerama is going virtual: In lieu of Laurier’s annual Shine Day, the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union will be hosting a virtual paint night on July 16 at 7 p.m. to raise money in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Tickets can be purchased at tickets.yourstudentsunion.ca.
