Temporary Accessible Permit Application

TEMPORARY ACCESSIBLE PERMITS FOR STUDENTS

Temporary parking permits may be issued by Parking & Transportation Resources when supporting medical documentation is provided to the Accessible Learning Centre. Permits will be issued on the basis of a minimum of one (1) day to a maximum of four (4) months. These permits are valid in any accessible space on campus, including non-white permit lots. There is a fee for these permits, payable by cash or cheque only. Please contact our office for current rates.

For periods longer than four (4) months, we do require a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) permit. Special circumstances around an extended period requiring an accessible permit will be determined by the Accessible Learning Centre, again with supporting medical documentation.

The Accessible Learning Centre is located in the Arts Building, Room 1C11, and can be reached at (519) 884-0710, ext. 3086.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING FOR VISITORS

Visitors to campus will need to stop at the Information Kiosk and purchase a temporary Pay & Display permit at a rate of $2.50/hour or $7.00/day (OR if you choose to park at a meter or in a Pay & Display lot, payment must be made.) This will allow you to park in any accessible space on campus as long as you hold and are displaying a valid Ministry of Transportation (MTO) accessible permit.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPACES ON CAMPUS

Accessible Parking spaces are available in numerous locations throughout campus [Lots 1, 2, 3A, 7, 9 (west), 10, 11, 12,16, 21, 22, 24, 27, 30, and 42). Please refer to a campus map for these locations. These spaces are clearly identified by the MTO symbol on a posted sign and/or marked on the pavement.

Vehicles parked in these spaces MUST display either:

a) A valid MTO pass (along with a temporary Pay & Display pass for visitor's, payment at a meter or Pay & Display lot or a valid Gold permit for staff/faculty)

OR

b) A temporary accessible permit (along with a valid Gold permit for faculty/staff)

Note that parking in an accessible space on university property without the proper permit(s) displayed WILL result in a ticket and/or tow.
