Fall 2013

September 2 - Labour Day (University-observed holiday)
September 2-6 - Orientation Week (O-week) for incoming Year 1 students
September 9 - Fall term and full-year lectures begin
September 11 - Last day to drop/withdraw 6-week courses (beginning Sep 9) - no tuition penalty
September 15
- Last day to drop/withdraw 6-week courses - 10% tuition penalty
September 15 - Last day to add 6-week courses (beginning Sep 9)
September 15 - Last day drop 12-week courses with no tuition charge
September 22 - Last day to drop 12-week course at 10% tuition charge
September 22 - Last day to add 12-week, full year and online learning courses
September 23-November 5 - last day to drop/withdraw - 55% tuition penalty
October 1 - last day to submit 'Application to Graduate form to Registrar's Office'
October 14 - Thanksgiving (University-observed holiday)
October 26 - Fall Convocation
November 5 - Last day to drop/withdraw at 55% tuition penalty and without failure
December 3 - Make-up Monday for Thanksgiving holiday
December 3 - Fall term lectures end
December 4-5 - Study days
December 6 - 19 - Final Exam Period (Students are advised not to make travel commitments during this time period)
December 19 - Fall term ends
December 22-January 1 - University Closed

Winter 2014

January 6 - Winter term starts
January 13-19 - Last days to drop/withdraw with 10% tuition penalty
January 19 - Last day to add winter term courses
January 20-March 7 - If you drop/withdraw during this time period, you will be responsible for 55% tuition penalty
February 17 - Family day, University-observed holiday
February 17-21 - Reading Week (no lectures)
March 1-April 28 - Academic Program Councelling period, & time to Declare honours specialization or program change needed to access LORIS during the summer months to register for courses in upcoming academic year.
March 7 - Last day to drop/withdraw without failure and possible tuition adjustment
March 8 - From this day on, if you drop/withdraw from Winter term, you will receive academic penalty (failure) and no tution adjustment. 
April 4 - Winter lectures end
April 7-8 - Study days
April 9-30 - Final Exam Period. Students are advised not to make travel committments during this time period.
April 15
- Last day to submit Application to Graduate for spring convocation, see Miscellaneous Fees in the Financial Services chapter.
                No forms will be accepted after this date.
April 18
 - Good Friday, University-observed holiday
April 19 - Easter weekend, no examinations
April 30 - Winter term ends.
