Change IPMail Password



For Windows user:

1.To install Putty:

Please download the file from here and execute it;
You will find a folder caller "putty" in "C:" after installation;

2.To Set Up "putty":

Open file folder "putty" in drive "C:", and find "putty.exe";
Right click on it, choose "Send to", then choose "Desktop(create shortcut)";
You will find an icon with two computers, named "Shortcut to putty.exe" on your screen;
Execute it by double clicking it, or, right click, choose "open";
Now you are in "PuTTY Configuration" window;
Type "ipmail.wlu.ca" under "Host Name (or IP address)";
Verify "Port" field is 22, and "SSH" radio button is chosen under "Protocol:";
Type "ipmail" under "Saved Sessions";
Click "Save" button on the right side;

3. To connect to "ipmail":

In "PuTTY Configuration" window, choose "ipmail" from "Saved sessions", click "Open";
You will be prompt "login as:" in "ipmail.wlu.ca - PuTTY" window;
Type in your user name, press Enter;
You will be asked your password;
Type in your current password correctly, you are in ipmail;
To change your password, type in "passwd", you need to enter your old password, then type in your new password twice,
You will be told "Password changed".
After finish your session, type "exit" at command prompt.

For Mac User:

Open a terminal, and type in "ssl -l yourusername ipmail.wlu.ca";

You will be asked your password;
Type in your current password correctly, you are in ipmail;
To change your password, type in "passwd", you need to enter your old password, then type in your new password twice,
You will be told "Password changed".
After finish your session, type "exit" at command prompt.
