First Year Experience
The First Year Experience for Faculty of Arts students is unique in the university. We offer several choices that will assist in the transition from high school to university.
Interested in a small, thought-provoking and engaging class? Try one of our First Year Seminars!
Our academically-themed Residence Learning Communities give you the opportunity to live side-by-side in residence with students taking similar courses, as well as the chance to interact with faculty from your department on a regular basis.
The Laurier Arts Scholars Program offers the opportunity for high-achieving high school students (90%+ average) to work together with other high achievers in first year and beyond. Our GOT IT! mentoring program is designed to help first year students on the road to academic success.
The Common Reading Program began in 2013. All Faculty of Arts students receive a copy of the selected book, and are encouraged to get involved with a variety of workshops, discussion groups, contests and events surrounding the chosen book.
