Advice from George: Movie Review - Gravity
Movie Review: Gravity
Hey guys. Today I would like to share my thoughts about a movie called “Gravity”. Gravity is a 3D science fiction thriller and space drama film. This is an astronaut adventure about surviving in a space that has no oxygen, no food, and no existence with zero gravity, 375 miles above Earth. Although the background is set in outer space, the film tells a survival story. I was particularly moved by the spirit of persistence and resilience in the movie. George Clooney played a veteran astronaut who was trying to break a space walk record in his final mission. While Sandra Bullock played a scientific engineer who just finished six months of training and was under the supervision of George Clooney. They were participating in a mission about fixing the Hubble Telescope when Mission Control suddenly reported that debris from a nearby Russian satellite was heading towards them and the debris was causing a chain effect that was destroying all satellites in its track. Then the survival adventure began.
The lesson I learned from this movie is when facing consistent bad luck you have to be optimistic and persistent. Life is full of changing and you have to embrace the change. If you cannot accept the change of life in a bad direction, then you are not fully prepared for the change in a good direction either. When we are in a difficult situation, the external challenge is just one part of the difficulty; mental depression will also significantly affect us. Loneliness is hard to overcome, but as George Clooney said in the movie:” you could just close your eyes and do nothing, but it is time to open your eyes and go home.”I keep this sentence in my mind when I am in an extreme difficult situation. As an international student, “Go home” has a special meaning to me. I think this is actually a really good attitude to face consistent bad luck. You need to let the less important issues go and focus on what is really important to you. Don’t overthink. When you encounter a problem just simply solve it. We will get out of here. Someone is waiting for us.
I hope you will enjoy this movie and share your thoughts with me!
