OSAP Fund Release for 2014-2015 and MSFAA forms

How to get your OSAP in 2014-2015

The Student Awards Office will confirm release of fall OSAP funding provided students have met the following conditions:

1. Students have submitted all required documentation including the MSFAA prior to the start of the semester

2. Students must be fully registered in fall semester courses (% of course load must equal the % course load request by student on OSAP application)

ALL STUDENTS:

CHECK YOUR 2014-15 OSAP STATUS ON YOUR WLU LORIS ACCOUNT AFTER 4:30 PM ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 28th, 2014.
EXCEPTIONS: MBA/Bachelor of Education students (Waterloo Campus) may check their status 10 days prior to the start of their study term.

*Students who have opted out of having their fees automatically sent to Laurier through their OSAP funding, will be required to pay all outstanding fall term fees by the due date specified on their invoice. If you do not meet the due date, late payment charges will be applied to your account. To check your opt-out status, access the "View my student Aid/Funding" screen under the Student Awards/Financial Aid tab in LORIS.

MSFAA-Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA)

For complete details about the Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA) forms which are a  requirement of the OSAP program , refer directly to the CanLearn website.

The MSFAA replaces previous federal and provincial full-time student loan agreements. Since it's a multi-year agreement, it's more efficient and easier to use. For instance, you won't have to sign a new agreement the next time you apply for student financial assistance (unless you take a two-year break in study or establish residency in another participating province/territory).

Your responsibilities and the terms and conditions of accepting and repaying your student loans are outlined in your MSFAA. When you sign your MSFAA, you are signing two contracts: one between yourself and the Government of Canada, and one between yourself and your provincial government.  Refer directly to the CanLearn website for complete details.

YOUR MSFAA MUST BE PROCESSED BEFORE FUNDS WILL RELEASE.
