Bob Astley
Chair, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board
| Bob Astley is the Chairman and Director of the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board and a Director on the board of the Bank of Montreal. He retired from a 38-year career in the insurance and pensions industry in 2004, having been President and CEO of Clarica Life Insurance Company from 1993 to 2002 and President of Sun Life Financial Canada from 2002 to 2004. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Laurier in 1996 and is a former Chair of our Board of Governors.
