Community Life

The Seminary family joins not only in worship and in common programmes of studies and training, but also in many other communal experiences.

During Fall and Winter Terms, Seminary and University students gather in the Chapel for worship both according to the stated traditional orders of Evangelical Lutheran Worship and in new experimental terms.

Many students join with the faculty and wider community to sing global music wit the Inshallah choir.

The Cossman-Hayunga Missionary Society is a student organization founded in 1915 for the promotion of missions concerns.

Orientation Week includes activities that not only introduce new students to the Seminary Community but also renew the spirit of the whole Seminary for a new year of life together.

The “Feeding of the 5000” is an annual gathering of the Seminary community for a common meal and an evening of fellowship and fun.

Youth Day is initiated by the student body, normally on an annual basis. Youth from across the Eastern Synod are invited to this event for a day of experiences in worship, learning, fellowship,
and recreation.
