Academic Director appointed to Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship
Dr. Stephen Preece, has been appointed as Academic Director of the Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship in the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.
In this new role, Preece will be responsible for working with all faculties in the design and delivery of academic courses in entrepreneurship offered at the university, reporting to the Dean of SBE and working closely with Steve Farlow, Executive Director of the Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship.
Preece has taught in the Policy Area in SBE for 20 years. Recent teaching has been in the entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, arts entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship areas. His research focuses on arts management in the cultural industries, with particular interest in arts start-ups, sponsorships, partnerships, and new media. He is a strategic planning consultant within the cultural sector. He has a PhD and MA from The Ohio State University, and a BA and BS from Brigham Young University.
His appointment begins April 1.
