Rave reviews for Dead Man Walking, featuring Laurier faculty Kimberly Barber and alumna Allyson McHardy.

Mar 19/13

This month, the Opéra de Montréal presented its Quebec premiere of Dead Man Walking by Jake Heggie. Dead Man Walking follows the story of nun Sister Helen Prejean who visits prisoner Joseph De Rocher who has been sentenced to death. Prejean cannot accept that De Rocher will die without the face of love as he has been virtually abandoned.

Allyson McHardy, a Laurier graduate, played Sister Helen Prejean, and Laurier faculty member Kimberly Barber played Mrs. Patrick De Rocher, mother of the convicted prisoner. The Faculty of Music would like to congratulate Allyson and Kimberly on their wonderful performances.
