WATERLOO – Wilfrid Laurier University’s Waterloo campus is hosting Think Arts Day on Saturday, May 11 with a full day of activities designed to provide prospective students with information about studying in the arts programs at Laurier.

Think Arts Day will offer opportunities to meet the dean of Arts and mingle with professors from the Faculty of Arts, attend mini-lectures, hear directly from a student and alumni panel and take tours of campus and Laurier’s residence buildings.

“Think Arts is one of the last opportunities for prospective Arts students to really get a feel for what life at Laurier is like before the June 3 acceptance deadline,” said Karli Imhoff Malcher, welcome centre coordinator in Recruitment and Admissions. “There’s no better way to see if Laurier is a good fit for you than to participate in a mock-lecture, meet with professors and get your questions answered.”

Students and their families are invited to start their day at the Bricker Academic Building, where registration will take place from 9 - 9:30 a.m. This will be followed by an information session about Orientation Week hosted by the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union (WLUSU) at 9:30 a.m.

Between 10 a.m. and noon, students will be able to choose from 11 different mini-lectures, which will give them a sense of the variety of discussion topics that take place during first-year courses.

Following the mini-lectures there will be a student & alumni panel discussion. This is a great opportunity for students and their parents to find out more about the extra-curricular opportunities that exist at Laurier for current Arts students and the types of jobs that students find after graduation.
