Tips for staying healthy and limiting the spread of influenza viruses
Public Health advices three steps to help you stay healthy and limit the spread of influenza viruses:
- Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze by using a tissue or cough into “the crook of your elbow” if you don’t have a tissue.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand rub/sanitizers are also effective.
- If you feel unwell (with a fever), you are encouraged to stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
