Common Reading Program

Laurier seeking book nominations for Common Reading Program

Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing

Mar 26/13

Do you know a good book? Wilfrid Laurier University is inviting students, faculty, staff and community members to suggest a book for the inaugural Common Reading Program.

Laurierís Common Reading Program is for incoming first-year students entering the Faculty of Arts in September 2013. Each student will receive a free copy of Laurierís chosen book in the summer. They will have a chance to discuss the book with their peers and will be invited to participate in orientation events focused on the book.

To suggest a book for the program, fill out the online nomination form. The deadline to suggest a book is April 5.

If your book wins, you will receive a $100 gift card from the Laurier Bookstore (if multiple individuals propose the winning title, a draw will be held). The Common Reading Program Selection Committee, composed of students, faculty, staff and local high school teachers, will announce the winner in the spring.

For more information, visit the Common Reading Program website or contact Dr. Ute Lischke at ulischke@wlu.ca.
