Laurier Walk for Mental Health takes place Thursday from noon to midnight
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
The Laurier community is invited to participate in "Love My Life: A Walk for Mental Health" Oct. 3 from noon to midnight in the Waterloo campus Quad.
The Laurier Love My Life: A Walk for Mental Health (LML: WALK), run by The Mental Health Education Group at Laurier, will include fun activities and tools for enhancing faculty, staff and student wellbeing. Mental illness affects more than six million Canadians, which speaks to the importance of creating safe community spaces for engaging in dialogue about mental health.
Throughout the walk, students will share stories about what helps them “love their life” despite the challenges they have faced with mental illness. Guest speaker Drew Dudley, founder of Nuance Leadership Inc., will speak candidly about his own experience and successes at 5:15 p.m.
LML: WALK participants are encouraged to come out and walk for as long
as they can.
