Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
Wilfrid Laurier University Press is celebrating University Press Week Nov. 12-16, organized by the Association of American University Presses (AAUP).
The week is an opportunity to highlight the work of university presses and their contributions to culture, academics, and society.
WLU Press will be featuring posts by a different guest blogger each day throughout the week at http://nestor.wlu.ca/blog The AAUP featured WLU Press’ Nov. 13 blog by Bruce Elder, author of Harmony and Dissent.
WLU Press also chose to highlight Elder’s Harmony and Dissent as a book that exemplifies its publishing program. AAUP’s gallery of highlighted books can be found here.
In addition to its blogs, WLU Press also developed an influence map for its Life Writing series, which can be found here.
WLU Press was founded in 1974. The press publishes a broad list of scholarly books in the social sciences and humanities which are peer reviewed, media reviewed, and proven relevant to the community beyond the university. The press publishes 30-35 titles a year and has over 365 titles in print.
The press has digitized its backlist, and its electronic books appear through netLibrary, Questia, Ebrary, MyiLibrary and Gibson Library Services/Canadian Electronic Library.
