Dr. Hennebry's work involves comparative international research on mobility and migration governance with an emphasis on foreign worker programs. Her research projects have focused on rights and social protections for migrant workers, transnational migrant farmworker health, the role of non-state actors and an expanding migration industry in migration governance, the role of remittances in ICT development, transnationalism and securitization, and a comparative study of labour migration from Mexico with Morocco.
Some recent projects include "Mapping the Global Governance of International Migration", "Mediating Mobility: Temporary Migration and Private Sector Influence in Canada's Immigration System", and "Responding to Temporary Migration in Agriculture".
