Biography

Zach is the Director of Exercise Physiology and Metabolism at the AIM Institute of Sports and Lifestyle Medicine and since 2003 a faculty member in the department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at WLU. As a Kinesiologist and Exercise Physiologist he has worked with athletes in the CIS, OHL, NHL (including Stanley Cup Champions), CFL, NFL, CSL, CUFLA, Boston Marathon, Ironman, Triathlon World Championships, World Police and Fire Games, Olympics, Paralympics and Namibia Ultramarathon. As a faculty member he teaches Advanced Exercise Assessment, Advanced Exercise Training Methods and Nutrition for Health and Human Performance. He is driven to enable athletes to achieve personal best performances and regularly coaches age group athletes in various disciplines across Ontario. He also works with patients in a team oriented environment focusing on chronic disease management and prevention with a particular interest in diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

As a father of two active boys, Zach is typically coaching hockey or soccer if he is not in the game himself. At home, the neighbourhood kids claim he makes the best backyard rink with better ice than some of the local arenas - even with the "lucky loonie" faceoff dot!
