HBMus Voice Performance, Opera Diploma, MA Community Music (Candidate) - Wilfrid Laurier University
Tenor, Brandon Leis performs regularly in southwestern Ontario and Michigan as an opera, oratorio and concert soloist, as well as a recitalist. He has, most recently, been a featured soloist with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Renaissance Singers, the Spiritus Ensemble, the Georgetown Choral Society, the Mennonite Mass Choir and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, the International Symphony Orchestra, the Stratford Summer Music Festival, the Scaramella ensemble, the Canadian Chamber Ensemble, the Bach-Elgar Choir and the Guelph Chamber Choir.
Brandon has served as a church musician, choral scholar, and church music director for over 15 years. He has a broad range of choral experience, in both professional and amateur choirs, having sang with such groups as St. John's Anglican Church choir, Elora and the Da Capo Chamber choir, Waterloo.
Brandon regularly serves as an adjudicator and workshop facilitator for amateur musicians. As an educator/lecturer he has taught at Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Rockway Mennonite Collegiate and Heritage College and Seminary in Cambridge and teaches at the Kanata Centre for Worship and Global Song at the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. As a choral conductor he has served the Menno Youth singers, the Rockway Mennonite Collegiate Senior choir, and the Rockway Concert Combo.
Brandon currently teaches voice at Wilfrid Laurier, where he has also taught vocal pedagogy, ministers as music director at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church in Kitchener, and is pursuing his Masters in Community Music at Wilfrid Laurier.
