Christopher Cutting is a doctoral student in Religious Studies at the University of Waterloo in the joint Religious Diversity in North America program. He is training to be a sociologist of religion focusing on religion and public policy, with a particular interest in religion, multiculturalism, and immigration. His dissertation explores how a secular Canada, in the context of the policy goals of its multicultural law, accommodates and protects the religious freedom of Ontarians who wish to practice faith based arbitration in Ontario, and what the limits of this accommodation are.
